Freehold

It would be horrible news for the industry if Freehold, the oldest harness track in the world, went out of business. I watched a bit the last two days. How has Penn Gaming run this into the ground? Who closes a sportsbook and turns in a gaming license right before football season? These guys makes NYC OTB look like a success story.

I would miss seeing this historic track. Meanwhile, their pools might actually be better than Yonkers and Pocono. Also, this new track announcer is pretty darn good and he gave out a bunch of good winners on air today while I was watching.

I hope they find a path to success and resuscitate some life into the place.

  • Sweet: Please Lord, give PurpleSheetPicks FIXED ODDS at every track and every ADW he could wager with, he'll prove he's right.  Racing will be saved, a tsunami of gamblers will show back up, drugs, cheating, animal abuse will stop, real regulatory and enforcement will engage.  There'll be world peace, and he'll stop whining and crying!  Amen!  ;D

  • Sweet: The fact of the matter is the win pool on Beau Jangles was I believe a negative pool,  his real odds not 1/9 but 1/99.  Enough already, we're the real patrons of thius F'ing sport, many of us also care for these animals despite the best don't want drugs and whipping, abuse.  Competition yes!

  • Lockedin with Pace: Robust Hanover was a very small horse driven by William O'Donnell. In fact the late Stan Bergstein used to refer to him as the "little peanut".
