As posted in the StarLedger newspaper reads… a combined lack of interest in harness racing and the track’s “failure to capitalize on the advent of sports betting in New Jersey” doomed it.
Once again a topic that gets no traction as most horsemen see good purses and are oblivious to what is really happening,,,,,,,,,,, What a shit show yesterday at Mohawk as the track played so unfair that it was hard to watch as the only movement was up the rail and thats not movement,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Every race at the same distance and small prices and 10 horse field where the announcer calls 10 -1 a shocker and 7-2 shots a mild upset,,When is the last time you watched a 10 horse field at the TBs and the announcer called a 10 to 1 shot a shocker or a 7-2 shot a mild upset,,,,, When is the last time you looked at a regular overnight race and said this race looks like a great race for back runners at a huge price as 6 horses have a front running style and last when is the last time a horseman came on this site and said racing looks real poor and not fun to watch,,,,,,,,The little brown jug is a week that horsemen get together and celebrate racing,,,,,,,,The big party that gets a older crowd every year,,,,,,,,,,,Does anyone not watch a race at FREEHOLD and see that its boring or in CANADA does anyone not watch GEORGIAN DOWNS OR WESTERN FAIR AND FLAMBORO were every race is a snooze fest,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Because of slots i read many times on this site that if you do not like it dont play and that is happening,,,,,,,,,,,
Not only did they fail to capitalize on the sports, they lifetime banned anyone and everyone from the building who were betting certain games they felt they were at a disadvantage. Some of those banned also played horses. They also lifetime banned sports gamblers for simply winning a few games.
