Joe C (Mr Dalrae) R.I.P.
« on: September 22, 2024, 05:29:37 PM »
So,as some of you may of heard, Joe passed away this morning after fighting cancer for last couple years. If you were lucky or unlucky enough to of known him, he was quite a character. Like most of us on this site, he loved action, loved to gamble and loved horses. He was also quite good at it too. He and I would sit at pocono every qualifying morning in June to watch babies qualify. He would take detailed notes on every horse we watched. His biggest scores were always on 2 yr olds. He had great stories also. From gambling with Michael Jordon on the golf course, or hanging out with LT in Florida. Never a dull moment with Joe around. He would say things sometimes that would infuriate me, and I wouldn’t talk to him for a month, but he always had a way to get back in your good graces. These last several years, he owned pieces of a few horses with Rocco. Like all of us, he was chasing the dream of the next world champion playing the yearling game in Lexington. He never reached that goal, but did have several nice ones. When my guys and I were doing a road trip to a specific track, they would always ask if entertainment was joining us. Our trips to the jug and Canada were always better when Joe was in the vehicle.  Gonna miss you Bud. See you in the next life……..

I was usually Joe's roommate in CANADA and the JUG, as I never bothered him watching late tv, he loved that.  He loved 2 yr old races, golf, his son and Jax his wife.   You will be missed my friend.  I am in Portugal now at a wedding and I sent out a prayer

I am sorry to hear of the loss of someone who was a friend to many here. I did not know him, however, his friendship and impact on those here is obvious. My condolences to all of those who knew him, his friends and family.
