I never had honesty issues with my 2 trainers I was involved with.

My first trainer was the late Lynn Proesel RIP At Pompano Park (RIP) in the mid 2000's.  She trained my 1st horse, a $4000-claimer named Allamerican Fancy.  Lynn gave my girlfriend and I a chance to learn the game from the bottom up.  Lost a lot of money, but immensely enjoyed the experience.  FYI, Lynn also trained a world champion--Embers Scooter a dual gaited mare who paced and trotted and was the fastest combined time for about a year.

My 2nd/current trainers are the Connor's, Chuck and Janice.  I have been with them since 2011.  My relationship is not just business.  I get a chance to have dinner with them on occasion, as well as other social events.  I also had a chance to spend the weekend with them at Saratoga for a weekend during the Saratoga thoroughbred meet with them at Saratoga t-breds.

I also had a chance to ride with Chuck on road trips with my horses racing at Vernon Downs 1 night and The Meadowlands the next night!

How many trainers would do this with an owner?

Rainman your trainers might be legit people but the game today is not the same and horses are breaking down with the drug trainers as today horses are machines but my topic is who would you give a  very good horse to while running against a list i gave in my post and Pat Lachance is the only legit name so far,,,,,,, I DONT BLAME THE CHEATS ONE BIT,,,,,,,,,,,,, Today its real hard to rob a bank because you will get caught because banks have done a good job protecting their assets,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,  If a secretary working for a member of race track officials gets caught stealing she will lose her job and might go to jail but if a trainer drugs up a horse and changes the outcome of a race were a couple hundred thousand of the punters money is involved the trainer will get a small fine and 60 days and in most cases appeal and win the appeal,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Does that make sense,,,,,,,,,,,, Cheaters can not cheat in hong kong and  cheat one time you are barred for life as Patrick biancone at the time was miles the leading trainer and is barred or life in FRANCE AND HONG KONG,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ALL THESE GUYS PEOPLE HATE IN THE GAME are not a problem with a honest system........... ........Racetrack s will bar someone who complains about corruption instead of cleaning it up they cover it up and they bar a journalist for bringing bad press to the game,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I know exactly what I was getting into when I got into this business 20 years ago.

I raced my horses against very unscrupulous trainers at Pocono 15 years ago.  Still no regrets!  Just more satisfying when you beat them in a race!

My point exactly.....Pat Lachance, good guy. No, he's shady, he was hooked up with this guy, etc. Kelvin Harrison, good guy. No, he's a drug trainer, multiple violations for this and that.

Everyone is going to have a perception, perspective, and opinion.

My belief is the top cheats eliminated honest trainers. Some will use less harmful stuff & less often to win. Everyone has to eat. JMHO

And if that's the answer, then there is the mental dilemma owners face.

Then you get owners----who you are legitimate, upstanding, professionals, business owners, etc.----like George Segal, Marty Granoff, Ted Gewertz, Jack Rollins, Peter Heffering, Tom D'Altrui, Mickey Chasanoff, Arlene Traub, Seth Rosenfeld, and numerous others. They've given horses to Steve Elliott, Joe Holloway, Brett Pelling, Linda Toscano, Robert McIntosh, Jim Campbell, Tom Artandi, Bill Robinson, and others. I would suspect most people would have a problem with Bill Robinson. Many perhaps with Steve Elliott and Brett Pelling. Some possibly with Joe Holloway. Where do you draw the line, and who judges where the line is?

Hey dipshit, it says “honest trainers” not “drug free” trainers because there is not such thing as a completely drug free trainer   But an honest trainer when it pertains to his owners is Harrison.
