Back in the 1970's at the old Georgetown Raceway in southern Delaware, which was a 1/2-mile track, there would be a horse first over and almost head and head with the inside horse, and all of a sudden, the horse who is locked in the pocket just cuts right out pushing the 1st over horse 3 wide. There were never any inquires for it and it happened all the time. Obviously, the video replay technology wasn't as good back then as it is now, and I'm not sure they showed replays in those days.
My biggest gripe is a inside horse pushing his way out! The judges never dq or fine, and it happens in most races.
It's their job to watch the races, but too many times I watch races where horses should be placed lower, yet there's not even an Inquiry.Batavia has been guilty of that recently, same horse broke 2 weeks in a row, did not lose ground and tucked right in on the rail. Won both weeks, no inquiry. Didn't have to Requalify either.
