When it's on TV, you're exposed to the pudgy Jessica Otten.

I think Roosevelt Raceway had some sort of deal with wild turkey. Wild turkey posters were plastered all over their track.
Advertisers always think of the bottom line. The ad you posted is from many moons ago when people knew who Carmine was. Today most people would scratch their head if you asked them what harness racing is.

Most of the on-air commentators at TVG/Fan Duel know zero about harness racing. One of the hosts, Christina Blacker referred to the sulky as a carriage, and the starting gate as the car.

I find it very boring to post as if you look at many of the topics you will see topics that just make no sense as MANY p diddy topics are showing up,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Now this topic i like,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Now the last post the guy said that people in this sport have no knowledge of this sport and that is true but the people that have knowledge believe that hiding the truths are good for the game and can you imagine the four top guys in this game having random people asking questions on live tv about this sport,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, How would that go when someone would ask if there is enough done about the drugs in the sport or when asked do you thing the fans are respected by the drivers or management that run this sport,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Or the greatist trainer in the history of this sport in CANADA and THE USA ARE WILLIAN ROBINSON AND RICHARD MOREAU AND CASIE COLEMAN in CANADA and in the USA THE GREATIST are RON BURKE AND BRETT PELLING and JIMMY TAKTER and does anyone think you get fair plays from the heros of this sport and when was the last time the 8 best drivers in the world traveled to one racetrack in a rural place and put on a show with all the money going to charity or even did this at the BIG M AND WHO IS A LOVED LEGEND THAT WOULD BRING A CROWD OF PEOPLE TO THE TRACK and watch horses leaving the gate dropping from 5-1 to 9-5,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,The people that run this sport now need to lie as the truth is way to ugly to talk about and no kid anywhere in NORTH AMERICA has a picture on their wall at home with James mac or DAVID MILLER IN THEIR ROOM,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,lETS GO ONE MORE AND I WULD SAY THAT NO KID HAS A PICTURE OF SOMEBEACHSOMEWHER E on their wall so lets not talk about the heros and get the villions out of the game and reset and last a few days ago Amac doing a podcast popped up on my you tube and it was the first one i have ever seen and the entire time he was talking about the bargains that you were getting and he would of paid 150k for a horse that went for 65k and after hearing all the stupidity i noticed that no one could comment as comments were disabled as i wanted to read comments,,,,,,,,,,,,,,how fffffff,,,,,,,,d  is that,,,

TVG/Fan Duel is primarily a network which caters to thoroughbred racing but do cover the bigger harness tracks. I said most of their commentators know little or nothing about harness racing. The one commentator who knows the most is Dave Weaver who happens to be the brother of Mark Weaver who is part of the Weaver/Bruscemi partnership who employ Ron Burke as the trainer of their large stable. You're correct, you rarely hear any of the bad stuff that goes on in racing on their network, but their main job is to get you wager, not to tarnish the sport regardless of if they know anything or not. I go on the Harness Racing Update website alot. They have a group of writers who write weekly stories and none of them ever mention anything negative about harness racing. If they know anything they just turn a blind eye to it.

So let me get this,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Get people to bet with hiding the truths that we can all see as a horse that runs 7th and then has RICHIE BANCA the next week and paying 3.80  should not be talked about and lets pretend one had seen it and lets go on,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,No trainer or driver would sit in front of fans and take open questions about this sport and everyone would want all questions to be BS QUESTIONS and if you had knowledgeable people talking truth they would be fired and in what world does that work,,,,,,,,,,,,

You're assuming everyone knows about all the drugs in the sport, I extremely doubt most of them know anything about it. People are hired to do the job their employer tells them to do, and most aren't going to jeopardize their jobs by spilling the beans if they have knowledge of it. I'm just offering my opinion, doesn't make me right or wrong. We can agree there isn't enough policing in the game because no one wants to spend the money to investigate it, so nothing happens.

Years ago Montrell Teague was on with Regis Philbin because the Teagues had a horse named "Regis the Horse" Today's shows book guests who everyone has heard of so getting someone on from harness racing isn't going tom happen because it will bore the audience.

Exactly my point that you can promote something that is honest and Del insko and DANCER could be interviewed and honest at that time as the game was legit,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,CARDIGAN BAY was a great  horse that never had the public think a drug induced horse,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Joe o Brien was not giving up holes and HOUGHTAN and DANCER and garnsey were great names to promote with,,,,,,,,,,,,

As the older people are dying off, the interest in harness racing is dwindling forcing the closure of many tracks. I remember going to the old Georgetown Raceway in Delaware as kid. The racing was pretty cheap and all the purses were $500. Back then, drivers would whip their horses before the quarter just to keep a hole closed even if it meant overusing their horse. That stuff never happens these days because most drivers are buddy, buddy.

iT DID NOT HAVE TO BE THIS WAY IF WE HAD TRUE HEROS,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,CAN WE PROMOTE RON BURKE OR RICHARD MOREAU and they are number one in the last 20 years in CANADA AND THE USA,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,If drivers respected the game or its fans they would close holes,,,,closing holes creates hard run races that produces upsets as all you have to do is watch the breeders cup and see 12 horse fields with hard running and huge payouts that look like lottery type payout that would be exciting to cash and that brings in people,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, To most small betters they will tell you their biggest hit was a pick four in 1983 that paid 3800 and if you talk to a TB player you will here a different story,,,,,,,,,,,,,
