They used to have individual windows like that at the old Brandywine Raceway. Some tellers may only have had 1 or 2 customers all night.
Kirby's AceGetting back to Brandywine Raceway have individual windows for each denomination of bet W-P-S. In those days they didn't have the ability to cancel tickets so if a teller punched out the wrong ticket, he'd be on the hook for the money if he couldn't get it sold before the race. I knew the $50 seller there and one time he got stuck eating (2) $50 win tickets because he punched out the wrong number. Unfortunately for him, the horse didn't win.
Speaking of Duane, you probably know he died earlier in the year. He was very talented as a driver and loved criticizing other drivers for bad drives. He used to go to the Turf Club I went to in PA a few times maybe 12 to 15 years ago. Wasn't a bad guy, but his mouth got him in trouble.
