Exactly I specifically remember chatter in the 90's at the sales that so and so test bred and he's good to breed 400 mares or he can't get anything in foal.  This whole 60 days after racing to get test levels higher is BS.  Intense training increases testosterone levels in the athletes.  What people are saying is "Let him have 60 days off to get fat and happy and his test levels will go to the moon?"  LOL  Someone missed science class on the day they taught hormones.

Grandpa always said you had to give them time to get all the crap out of their system that they had been pumped with to race

This guy Luther is living proof that money doesn’t come with instructions. He is the dumbest guy in racing no doubt. A complete laughing stock. If he didn’t have deep pockets from other things he would never be heard of. Idiot.

You are 100% correct! He always wants to act like a big shot but makes poor decisions and looks like a total idiot. Just like buying a Catch the Fire yearling by jumping the bid up $100k higher just to say he had the highest priced yearling at the sale and by his stallion. No one was
Even bidding against him!! And the colt never amounted to anything!!
The list of his dumb moves goes on and on! Hard to imagine his cash flow will last forever at the rate he’s shelling out the cash.

Will Amazing Catch go down as a top 5 worst purchase in harness racing history?  Or is it too early to say?  Doesn’t look great so far.

Gotta ask: How many pages back did you go to dig that beauty out? ;D I'm guessing page 40.
Not saying it's a bad topic, just knew that it had to come from the archives. Please let me know the answer.
Love guessing on shit like that, but not hungry enough to sift thru all that myself to find it. ;D

Horse trots in 151 in it’s 2nd start this year, so maybe too early to say.

this was just a bad purchase. A good horse but not a great horse last year. Luther thought he was buying Sig Sauer but the horse is chasing Elista Hanovers blond tail at this point.

He's the type of guy that should be setting up and funding aftercare facilities instead of breeding for fun. That's the only way he widely respected IMO  tmbz1

  • Bitter Truth: That Golden Tempo , I'm afraid is  a money burner. Gets so far back. Was in range but just hung and raced even in the stretch. Didn't see a Derby winner in there in my opinion.

  • Trigger: I thought BT & I had a real good shot w/ a 110 4/5, wide but nice momentum, and then a sharp left turn mid stretch ended that  ngc3
