Luther’s $1.8 Mil Investment a Flop!
« on: November 26, 2024, 06:03:57 PM »
The word is out that Luther’s $1.8 mil investment isn’t going to be as profitable as he stated in his video! The horse didn’t pass fertility testing and Luther has to return everyone’s money who had purchased shares.  Now one would think that you wouldn’t sell shares until his fertility is confirmed, which would best be done after his racing career is done.  He just never seems to learn.

If true I mentioned this before nobody would invest without a fertility test. You can’t get an accurate one until after 60 days of racing. Luther gets the dumb guy of the year award.

Previous owners never tested. Why would they? He’s not a commercially viable stallion. DC has an out if Karl doesn’t pass fertility. So did Hanover with Sig Sauer who has already passed. No major farm would buy a stallion without one.

The breeders already had suspicisions that this horse was going t have fertility issues because he had very small testicles.  Its a tell tale sign in stallions when it comes to semen production and fertility.  It was very obvious and I guarantee any breeding farm would have looked when he was at Harrisburg before they made any offers or deals.

I have never heard 60 days of no racing for fertility testing?  I always thought soon to be studs were fertility tested during GC meet at Lexington so they new early on how to promote and advertise?

They never test while racing Karl, TCI, Winner’s Bet and Captain Albano haven’t been tested yet. Anyone that has bought a share in them already if they fail money will be refunded. The farm also has an out on them if they fail also. As far as Amazing Catch he won only three of eighteen starts not sure if anyone other than Luther was breeding to him anyway which he can probably still do.

Sounds like nobody ever heard of first-year/initial-year infertility coverage. LOL.

I thought something was suspicious when I inquired, and he refused to send a contract or memorandum of understanding. Just send the money. He told everyone that the horse was tested and good to go. Glad I walked away.

I don't know the reason but this has been coming for a few years. I noticed that Al seemed to go off on his own and when Marvin ended up with Brittany with no Al the writing was on the wall.

I though so to....I remember during the GC meet at Lex it was always an opportune time to test the semen of some of the local studs.

Exactly I specifically remember chatter in the 90's at the sales that so and so test bred and he's good to breed 400 mares or he can't get anything in foal.  This whole 60 days after racing to get test levels higher is BS.  Intense training increases testosterone levels in the athletes.  What people are saying is "Let him have 60 days off to get fat and happy and his test levels will go to the moon?"  LOL  Someone missed science class on the day they taught hormones.
