Lost Cause: Captain Albano didn't win any of the marquee events according to you!Marquee? None of what you mentioned are more than what could be considered major, even the Jug and Adios which almost never attract ALL the major players. Don't get me wrong Captain Albano has the credentials to be 3 yr old of the year mostly due to consistency throughout the year as you mentioned. The others have major knocks against them. PS Mirage won the Breeders Crown at M not the pace which I'm sure you know.
Lost Cause: Captain Albano didn't win any of the marquee events according to you!Captain Albano won the Little Brown Jug, Adios, Matron, and Progress Pace, all major races. Nijinsky won the North American Cup but most of his other wins were in the Ontario Sires Stakes. Legendary Hanover won the Meadowlands Pace and most of his other wins were in Canada, plus he tailed off after that. Mirage Hanover won the Meadowlands Pace and Tattersalls at Red Mile. Captain Albano was the most consistent all year and clearly the best at the end of the year and deserves to be voted top 3-year-old. I don't think the voting will be that close either.
