Pylon.Sorry I rubbed you the wrong way.Gotta be a horseman sticking up for the other cheaters.I could care less what you think about my postsas I can understand the truth must hurt in some cases. If you like single file if you can call it RACING than go at it.
"MacDonald cleared $12 million in seasonal purses this past week, making him the first Canadian-based driver to achieve more than $12 million in purses in a single season. The previous record was held by Chris Christoforou, who banked $11,984,468 during his O'Brien Award-winning season in 2003."Holy shit. What kind of year did Christoforou have putting up that kind of money 21 years ago!!!
Horseshoe.. you are just as jaded and miserable here as you were on HD and whining about the same old same oldDo you have any interest in Harness racing any more?
no not a horseman, just a gambler,,,,who has other things to whine about...lol...hav e little concern about courtesy tucks or talking on the track.....more about the postime drag and the intervals between races,,and last second $ dumps as the race unfolds....screwi ng up the odds..happened last night , 3 horses basically 5/2 as they moved behind the car but at the off one of them gets bet down to 3/5 and again you are woefully misinformed, jumping to conclusions about me.....i have no use for the juicers at Mohawk.....but of course you can whine all you want...but dont diss me,,you tired old man..
any1 left,,,,,please reread my post,,,i hate the computor bettors screwing around the odds....i dont bet anywhere near what i used to,,,,,,,,,but im not as jaded as you.......pissed off at times but not completely given up on the product.......... ..and the pre card hosts Rozema and Waples are there for one reason only...to promote the producti mute the sound lol
you guys make some great points and i am with you on most of themi too can remember the good ole dayssure some of us older fellas can waste 4 hours for a ten race card i guess but most folks are notsports gambling is taking the lot of wagering dollars, you dont really need to understand it , just have a favorite team or opinion, you can pretty much bet whenever you want and you know exactly what the odds and payout areharness racing has not caught on yet, still doing what they did in 1980 when they had no competition only doing it worse nowhard to see a way out going forward
I've been a harness racing fan since the late 1960's at the old Brandywine Raceway and Liberty Bell Park and Dover Downs. I like to gamble but don't consider myself a big bettor. I still enjoy it as much now as I did back then. I rarely if ever bet on sports because it takes away from the enjoyment of watching the game because I'm too focused on my bet.
in my younger days, long ago lol,,,i would bet NFL and literally fall on my knees in front of the TV begging the kicker to miss that last second field goal.....and then meet up with my bookie to settle up..lol.....those days are long gone..thankfully
Any1Left .... It is obvious you can rhyme off the 1000 reasons why you hate harness racing today. 998 have been around forever, so I'm wondering what you feel was so great about harness racing 20 years ago and what two things would you change to fix it today?
Any1left .... If it is 100% done, why are you still here pissing on everything and everyone? Do you just like to read your opinion over and over. As for honest banter, I think Waples gives you some of that but I take your point that a racing personality that doesn't give a shit what they say sounds like a great idea. Now, the salary to not give a shit, may not be enough to lose friends over at Mohawk. Shaq makes enough to slag his mother.I'm not sure how much you listen to Waples, but I've heard him many times go off the chalk board and support 8 -1 horses and higher and give his reasons why. Not sure why I hear it and you don't. Maybe because I'm not a gambler and my only interest is to hear what he has to say about my horses. When you say pure, I assume you don't mean clean, but rather that drivers today are too close to each other and not willing to race each race like they don't have to race against them again tomorrow and the next day and the next etc etc. I'm not sure about all this leaving a hole shit. Sometimes I see a guy give up a hole to a better horse, but my mind goes to the best thing I can do for my horse is let him in and if I'm good enough, I can sit on his helmet and stick with him all the way to the finish line. So from all of that, I hear 2 things ..... 1) more exciting, risk taking commentators, that can tell it like it is with a bit of personality. Sounds good to me.2) Judges to be given the power and push to discipline buddy buddy racing. If they can judge it correctly, I'm in, but I think it would be hard to confidently confirm that it wasn't a valid racing strategy. But if they can, slam the driver big time with escalating fines. I'm with you on both those ideas.
