Pretty sure that Mohawk is far enough away from the airport that the FREAKS departure notice is not required.

Funny that's what he calls his boyfriends ngc3 You've been on here pretty much all day.
I can tell those 'PROFESSIONAL' tasks are taxing this time of year. 73cv.2

Slow day here for the Vice President. End of the year meet and greets.

First of all, they have nothing to apologize for, and secondly, even if they did, why should Randy be the one to do it?

Because those are my demands. I watched. I didn’t hear. I got up and threw my program in the trash.

Unfortunately there are 365 other people ahead of you on the same list with demands for something, so you have a long wait.

Their loss. I stand firm in my beliefs. This may ruin its course and I may need less bitter months down the road but for now I throw out a BIG FUCK YOU. just like they did to me on a Thursday afternoon card.

I know you're bitter. Just wondering if you looked at the race and handicapped it, if so, would you have hit it?

On one of the threads I predicted the 10 s as the NUTZ. and the 12 not being any better than third. I tossed out of play the 1, 4,6, 9, 11 and would have ONLY used those for fifth on expanded ticket.  I thought the 5 would race good and would have used him second BUT WITH a series of others (including the three) Did I structure a ticket NO.  Would I have had it. I totally believe so. Not just have it but maybe a few times.

I don't bet Mohawk that often, so I'm not that familiar with the horses. Even with a huge pool, it would have been too difficult for me to handicap a 12-horse field even for a 20-cent wager. Had I ventured in, my strategy would have been to key a horse on top, with 3 horses for 2nd, several more for 3rd and 4th, and a few more for 5th. I didn't add it up but it would have been a fairly expensive ticket so I stayed out.

The only problem is they build the pool.with 10 horse fields, then add 2 more horses for the mandatory.

They want to make it as difficult as possible, so you'll spend more money on your ticket.

i try to structure the bet without going overboard. i went with one horse on top 4 horses for 2nd, 3rd and 4th then wheeled the field for 5th. $38.40 for the bet. if you loved the 10 you would have it.

I sympathize with FREAKY.  You guys can say I'm red boarding or bullshitting if you want to.  But this is 100% true.  In the last year, my two buddies and I have played carryover pentafecta tickets at Mohawk a total of 3 times.  We hit all 3 without breaking the bank because one of us is very astute and the other two have been playing the harness races for a million years.  We are all current or former owners and one of us trained a horse who beat Rambling Willie.  Another one of us actually got paid by the USTA for making picks on their website shortly after Al Gore invented the internet.  If any one of us do not like the race, we pass.

Because the race was in the afternoon, and we meet at night, our schedules did not permit us to consider betting.  If the race had been at night there is little doubt we would have played and gone 4 for 4.  The morning line favorites ran 1-2.  The 12 horse looked solid with J Mac and the best form.  There were 4 or 5 horses who were absolute tosses.  And yet it paid over $1300 for 20 cents.  Go figure.

You can say I should have played on my own, but I am not a pentafecta guy.  I hit a nice one at Keeneland shortly after they were instituted but I am more of a win bettor or pick 4 / pick-5 guy.  One of the guys NEVER bets Mohawk except for our carryover plays.

I understand that Boxing Day matinees are unique.  I watched all the races from home.  But i believe mandatory payouts should be Saturday night.

End of rant.  ;D
