when you say pretty good for himself if you mean when vague traces drops to the bottom level and wins. if thats pretty good then yea. but wasnt that horse a better than average horse at one point?
the horse drops in class he gets a good price because no one bets him. daddy sits at the bar and bets him. he pays good. everyone is happy. horse moves up and cant win.

The cycle of 'cheap horses'!  You have to read a program and see if/when they are ready.  You also have to hope and pray you get good betting value too!

This is how the "little guy" in the business can stay afloat, if he is fortunate enough to cash a few tickets!

So is is right by the public to sit in and go around there twice if you draw bad. Or draw in a tough race?  Is it not race fixing?  I did it too. I know the game. No one knows but you and the driver.  Not everyone tries every race. And that's an issue. It's defrauding the public unless you know who likes to do that and even then you are still guessing.

Addressed by just closing up shop? Great idea. These guys have to be starving in cleveland. They very rarely win let alone get checks. It's kinda sad. They should keep going east to monticello.

Perhaps they should try Buffalo/Batavia/Vernon before Monticello!
