Monticello - First race disqualification
« on: January 07, 2025, 04:59:06 PM »
I have a question for those who bet Monticello today.  I watched the replay about three times and couldn't find a reason that the #3 was disqualified in the first race.  If any veteran horse player on here could enlighten me for the reason, I would appreciate it.

Going into the first turn, the 3 horse was running in and forced the 2 off the track and inside several pylons. Watching the race live I originally thought the 5 horse might have also been running in, forcing the 3 into the 2. But that was not the case.

What's interesting, when they posted the inquiry sign, they were flashing the 2 and not the 3.

They were flashing the #2 because he went inside several pylons in the first turn. Then after watching tape, and speaking to the drivers they discovered the 3 horse came down into him. Pretty easy to see if you have any idea what your looking at. Judges got it right this time!

They may have gotten it right this time but why didn't they notice it right away and also flash the 3 since it happened in the 1st turn? If they saw the 2 go inside 2 pylons, alarm bells should go off in your head and ask yourself what caused it.

Yes, how racing has evolved. Now you can officiate 75 miles away from the track sitting on the couch in your underwear eating grapes.

I'd rather have a correct decision made 75 miles away than an incorrect one made onsite.
Isn't that what you want?
