if you are buyiong a horse you would be dumb not to give it to one of the top trainers. not that its right by the horse but if you want to have any shot at making money you have to. there was a trainer at northfield way back in the day. who did pretty well in the claiming game. he said if i ever get out ill buy a horse and give it to loney. some of you can probably figure out who he is. why would he do that? he had by far the best pre race mixture getting those post race pictures.if you are in it for the money which im sure most are. you have to use the fuel.
I am pro-HISA and a supporter. I've met Lisa, heard her speak several times, and I like how HISA has adapted, reacted, and handled working collaboratively. Like with any massive change, transition, whatever, there are parts that will get worse before they get better. With drastic change and new governance, and all that goes along with it, there are always elements that have to be addressed, because of drastic change itself. There's going to be change pains, progress pains, and yes, cases that are going to hurt---and she's addressed many of them. That said, IMO, by the time the USTA gets to the point of true acceptance, and where they are truly willing to collaborate---it will be too late for them. They will have already lost their chance to be a partner and co-author. HISA is moving ahead. The USTA is not. So be it. The USTA will suffer the consequences of their own actions.
