Now you're just being ridiculous. To conflate AMac starting a stable with a drug Lord is not productive and I think you're better than that. AMac is not breaking the law or exploiting drug addicts, he's lawfully trying to get a business to make money. You can argue that it isn't going to end well financially for those that invest, and I think the majority that have been in the game more than a year would agree, but you can't compare him to an criminal. At least El Chapo, now Monte Gelrod that's different.
i did go extreme but i also believe that the setup AMAC has is cruel and unfair and yes james in a very good driver but i believe that family is a disaster for harness racing as when i look at weg racing i see no hope and James is the big guy,,,,,,,,,, LIKE I HAVE SAID DRUGS ARE JUST A SMALL PART THESE DAYS AS moreau is out and things have got far worse as management is just hoping it will go away and they are the problem along with places like great canadian casino who never should have got a license........

You're all the place my friend. Nothing wrong with the MacDonalds, they are good people. Moreau got set up but as my father always said, ' sleep with dogs, you get fleas' ---plus Moreau is no saint and didn't mind keeping that all-world drench to himself for the past decade. I'm told by a friend up there that nobody is mad that Moreau is gone with the exception of Brad Grant who was finally making some money in the game. He has been selling non-stop the past three months so what does that tell you?

Seems like a weird thing to bag on AMac about.  It is obvious that he still isn’t at a level to buy a horse with this type of pedigree unless there is something not quite right.  Given his background he is probably used to working with a few ‘rats’ and helping them overcome.  If he can - with the pedigree this is a nice buy.  The Mori colt they had last year seems like a similar situation where is did work out.  Chapter Seven full brother to Kierkegaard K going for less than 6 figures in the current market is a discount.

Far bigger trainers will be dumping much higher priced yearlings for peanuts in the next 60-90 days.  I don’t like to dump this early because even foul gaited ones will clean up but sometimes you just know.  What is worse - dumping now or dragging the owners along and collect the training fees?

I would actually say the guy who bought a cast off in December and is now trying to make a quick $5 with a story is worse

I say this routinely here. I am no fan of Amac but him dropping a 2yo in January is not exactly some anomaly. The difference is this horse is on an online, public auction. Tons of them never see the light of day. Not sure why he's getting guffawed for cutting losses now. Would you, as an owner, rather watch this colt flounder through the spring, and god forbid stake him, just to come to the same conclusion in April-May-June?

I agree the person selling this horse right now is out of their mind. Anyone who pays attention saw this horse just sell for what? 5k less than they're trying to get. It won't happen.

This colt has some breeding and class behind him. He might've been worth it at the original (secondary market) sale price, for someone without a lot of overhead and/or a lot of time. As it is now, he'll probably be an Amish taxi in a month's time.

I assure you my math skills are fine - no where in my post was I comparing the losses of the two sellers.  I was saying that on the spectrum of nefarious sellers that the current seller seems worse for the sport.  He bought a cast off rat on one website and is now flipping him on another for a $5k up charge with a fabricated story. At least AMac included X-rays

No one in their right mind is going to bid on this thing.  The dumb fuck that bought it would be lucky to get his original purchase price back, let alone try to jack it up five grand.  Guy deserves to eat it and he probably will!

yes guys i do agree that the stable .ca is better to cut losses know if the horse really is bad, that is a good call
and maybe this is a one off and thats fine , this horse has some pedigree and sold for at least 50% of what he should have so guess they took a flyer and didnt like what they saw

having said that if my trainer did this more than once or twice he wold not be my trainer anymore , assuming he picked them out

He was happy to "steal him" @ 45k usd

All the other trainers couldn't see the potential of thiat prized pony- but he did, called him a steal.

Usually bilks the owners for many more months training fees, he or one of his buddies must've owned big part of him.

Wouldn’t you rather have your trainer call out a POS after two months instead of a trainer like Virgil Morgan, who have bled his owners for two years before finally admitting the horse id POS? Your first lost is best loss. Stop the bleeding asap. I have ALL the respect for Anthony pulling the trigger so soon. Had that same experience with the first one I bought with him. After 5 weeks he knew the horse was bad. He is due much respect. Over the years Ive had several horses where I went back to my partners that the best course of action was to give the horse away for nothing just to stop the ongoing bleeding. Never did one ever come back and haunt me. A good trainer can recognize shit early. others will just bleed their owners. Virgil Morgan is a great example

There is a tendency here for anger, resentment, jealousy, and more of the like. Thus, AMac gets darts thrown at him all day long. Then you have the inherent life struggle where people who aren't "successful" (whatever that means to them), aren't as "successful" as they want to be, think they should be, etc.----and their brain is wired to point the finger, and blame others. You get the ego mindset that runs, the hatred for mediocrity and lack of "success" or achievement, lack of notoriety, whatever, and the "I've never been given the chance," and so on. So people criticize and knock those who are successful. Thus, Jimmy and Nancy Takter get darts thrown at them all day one.

AMac is not a criminal. He built a business model. He did not lie to people. He told them the likelihood of them making money was small. Maybe that's changed. Maybe you don't like that---he drives and shouldn't, he bills for food, he bought a dud, whatever. So friggn' what. Don't buy a share with him and shut the f%ck up. Takter did what he did with Karl, and some armchair, internet trainer will diagnose the horse, the training, Takter's bills, the horse's fertility, the share price, and more, and chances are the person doesn't know the facts, but even if they did, to what end? None. It ain't helping you or anyone else cash a ticket. So shut the f%ck up. Let's not forget the racism, bigotry, and hatred that goes on here as well. For that, just shut the f%ck up.

Maybe more people would talk about handicapping, if people started talking about handicapping.
