What an appropriate name of a horse for Merriman to be driving in the 2nd race at Northfield tonight
That's a pretty good gig.  $47 American dollars a night.

Public defender?? He makes half mill a year and needs a welfare attorney?

If you spend it as fast as you make it, it is very possible!

The most he would do in jail would be 30 days.

He wont even do that with the right lawyer.

Hope he gets the right lawyer!

They releases the body cam footage of the arrest.  He's gonna be sitting for a long time when court finally happens.  He could get the OJ dream team and he's still fucked.

Police Body Cam Footage Report: Aaron Merriman Traffic Stop and Arrest
Date: 01/28/25
Incident Overview:
On January 28, 2025, Aaron Merriman was pulled over by law enforcement in Ohio. From the outset, Merriman was argumentative, asserting that he knew his rights and insisting that the officer had no grounds to stop him, stating, "You can’t pull me over for my tints."

Upon running Merriman’s license, the officer discovered that it was suspended. The officer returned to Merriman’s vehicle and requested that he step out. Initially, Merriman refused, requiring multiple requests before finally complying. The officer told him, "We’re not going to say no." As he exited the vehicle, his demeanor shifted slightly, and he admitted to having consumed alcohol earlier at a Cleveland Cavaliers game. He stated, "I only had three beers, and it was four hours ago. What’s going on is vertigo. This will actually work in my favor, see, because I have vertigo."

Field Sobriety Test:
Merriman continued to argue throughout the interaction. As the officer attempted to conduct a field sobriety test, Merriman became increasingly combative. During the eye-tracking portion of the test, he fixated on his hat, repeatedly claiming, "My hat never moved! My hat never moved! I can see my hat! I’m not moving my hat!"—despite visibly moving his head.

During the walking portion of the test, Merriman struggled to maintain balance and claimed, "I’m handicapped" before accusing the officers of being indifferent to his condition. He continued, "I couldn’t balance this on my best day. I have two children." When given further instructions, he responded, "Why are you the boss?" He repeatedly insisted that he was complying, stating, "I am! I am!" but ultimately stopped and admitted, "I can’t function."

At one point, he abruptly accused the officer of assaulting him and asked, "What do you guys gotta do?"—seemingly realizing that he was going to be arrested.

Arrest and Transport:
Once in handcuffs, Merriman continued his verbal tirade. When officers asked if he wanted them to secure his vehicle, as snow was expected, he refused, responding instead with threats of legal action: "No, I’m going to sue. Do you think you guys are cool?" He repeatedly stated that he would be suing the city. As the officers transported him, Merriman continued to demand a breathalyzer test, arguing that he had asked for one earlier and would "blow zeros." When the officer began reading him his Miranda rights, Merriman interrupted multiple times, refusing to remain silent. At one point, the officer told him, "Shut up while I read this to you." Merriman immediately responded,
"Don’t tell me to shut up! Cops don’t do that!" The officer replied, "Well, I just did." Merriman continued verbally attacking, calling the officers "fucking scumbags" and repeatedly claiming he would pass the breathalyzer. As the exchange continued, he said, "You’re ugly as fuck. You’re a fucking loser." He suggests the officers are setting him up and claimed, "I don’t smoke weed. I don’t drink. Nothing." The officer reminded him that he had already admitted
to drinking earlier, stating, "That’s how drunk you are—you don’t even remember." Merriman responded, "That was hours ago." As the ride continued, his insults became more inflammatory, at one point stating, "You wonder why people kill cops? Look at you! You fucking scumbag fuck!" The officer replied, "That’s pretty ignorant of you to say." Merriman doubled down: "Absolutely. Cops are fucking scumbags." He then boasted, "I will take every dollar I got—and I got tons—to sue you. I know my law!"

At one point, Merriman insinuated that he wanted to fight the officers, saying, "You should just want to fight me. I’m from the hood, cuz." However, shortly thereafter, he reversed his stance on the breathalyzer test, stating that he now refused to take it and demanded "another witness."Throughout the ride, Merriman continued hurling insults, even saying he hoped the officer’s wife and children hated him. As the car neared its destination, he threatened, "I’m going to tell
them you’re a child molester. Cops are child molesters." His verbal outbursts persisted until the body camera footage ended.

Conclusion:
The footage documents Merriman’s combative and erratic behavior, shifting narratives, and refusal to comply with standard sobriety testing procedures. Despite his claims of vertigo, disability, and past concussions, he displayed visible signs of intoxication and was unable to complete the field sobriety test. His repeated threats of lawsuits and aggressive behavior toward the officers continued throughout the arrest and transport process. The body cam footage ends with Merriman continuing his verbal tirade as he is transported to be booked.

Would racing at Northfield be better or worse if Aaron isn’t driving there??

I don’t think Northfield really has any standing to suspend him.  At this point he has only been charged with a crime and he doesn’t work for them.  The owners/trainers that use him should 100% stop putting him down.  He is not their W2 employee and they can make a decision to use someone else at their discretion.  The USTA should then suspend his license once the felony conviction comes through.

Northfield would be better off without him but it’s a cesspool of corruption so I think 90% should be removed

Any decent lawyer would already have him in a rehab center. Postponements: Rehab  do the whole deal, Anger Management, Substance abuse and Gambling issues. Come out healthy and deal with the fall out. Apologize to all involved quick, and don't waste time fighting it. Trainers aren't going to not list him, get real.
