the customer (gamblers) have no protection, and they wonder why its a dead game laddie
I don’t understand doesn’t anyone that does any good racing horses have these things loaded up with drugs?? Didn’t Beckwith set record last year for most wins in one meet at Saratoga?? Didn’t him and his wife get positive tests last year?? What’s the difference?
hard to believe Dan Nance saw this over a decade ago
Dan Nants KNows racing
I don't know Dan Nance, but I met him (and his brother Scott) a few times when I went to Chicago. I know he, or his brother or both, took a major hit for a positive test. I don't remember what it was for as I didn't really follow Chicago overnight racing that much----but, was it etorphine or something exotic like that? The first time I met him, I was in Chicago looking at a horse that Butch Paisley told me about. Dan and Scott came up, introduced themselves and said if I ever came to Chicago they could help me out, my trainer could ship in to their barn, etc. Scott seemed a little socially awkward almost, LOL, and Dan just came across as always having an agenda or an angle. While they seemed passionate, the more times you talk to them the more you just feel they were a bit shady, LOL. I think they were just two mediocre guys always trying to get ahead, be part of the "in" crowd and being jealous, envious, etc., of others who became successful. For the most part, they had little to nothing nice to say about almost everybody, LOL. Example----I had a good relationship with Doug Ackerman (the old man). I admired him, respected him, etc. He flew in one night to race a colt in a stake race. Dan saw me talking to him after the race, and the next night Dan badmouthed Doug big time to me. That told me all I needed to know. They were both just angry, bitter guys. I know he allegedly developed some speed rating system or something and became a tout, selling his picks for like $5 or $10, picking 4 horses, telling you to box them, and then being able to claim he won 7 out of 11 races on the card, LOL. Just another tout I guess.
An honest post on what you experienced. The “real experts” on Nance should be posting in the very near future on this here on horseplop. Stay tuned for future developments!
