I agree that he gets a lot of flak for exposing what a lot of people are too chickenshit to take on. We need people like this because clearly a lot of people in power are not only fine with sweeping things under the rug, they encourage it.

I have no issue with Mike.
I like the fact he calls people out and doesn't hide his identity.   And right or wrong, he provides details around why he's calling them out.
That's commitment.
Having said that, when you do what he does, you have to be prepared for the reaction, which on HP tends to be weighted on the negative side.

I don't have a problem with someone who is pro-horse, pro-industry, pro-sport, whatever you want to call it. Someone's motivations and intentions are certainly important. However, from intention and motivation forward is where you are either part of the problem or part of the solution. What you do, who you are being, your role, how you handle that-----that is how you will be viewed and treated.

A person can have the best intentions, but when they behave a certain way, insert themselves into situations that they are not invited to, qualified for, have standing, and so on; that's where you begin to have problems and make matters worse. When you attack legitimate, long-standing people in this sport and industry, people who run businesses and contribute to the sport and industry, that becomes a serious problem. You become nothing more than a heretic. When you cast aspersions and criticize virtually every formal and/or governing body or person in authority, that is a serious problem and it makes matters worse. When you are the source of negativity and criticism, that is a serious problem. When everyone is wrong and you are right, you are not contributing to solutions, you are perpetuating divisiveness and animosity. That's my take.
