Too long between races and the announcer needs to improve

The announcer is a world class announcer and a very good  handicapper.   He told us that before he even started here. He calls a race pretty  good , and he has learned to  spot and identify  the drivers and add their names to his call.   But , he is NOT THE SHOW...he is the announcer.   Someone needs to tell him this fact, and we will get on trying to make this a successful meeting

He sure beats Sweeney and the sarcastic words of Lloyd Johnston.

He does pick winners and some prices too. It's better than dead silence. He is getting better with names.

m. caruso aka butterfield  examples of why maine racing is dead. funny how last year when caruso was down at scarborough for butterfield the horses ran like the tank was empty. at cumberland today business as usual. i stand firm on what i said a while ago. maine pulls samples then what do they actually do with them?
way too long between races. lets see if that happens in december, when i assume there will be some heat on in the building.               announcer ok but he thinks the show is him. reminds me of a guy from the meadows whatshisname? in that respect. the races are the show. ok at picking but who goes to a track to play the announcers picks?
race 8 scratches were unprofessional. #4 rock of ages was scratched in the tote system at 145. the 7 zampara was announced scratched at 210 or so with the other changes. was not sorted out till post parade that only the 7 was scratched. the 4 then had to run for purse only. mistake yes im sure. unprofessional a definate.
good crowd today. 11 races yet only 59000 total handle. not going in the right direction.

  • Trigger: Kirby, tell the wife next Thursday you'll be back Monday afternoon.  Forget the "black Kettle" and cup sip on an umbrella drink watching the hot tan trim, some racing, great food, and beach air.  Teen evening temperature in Delaware, you can do better!  Me & You Babe!  ;D
